Every winter, millions tune in to the annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in Washington, D.C. This tradition has deep roots, going all the way back to 1923, and has developed into a full-on production event, featuring musical performances to accompany the ceremony with the President in attendance. Since 2012, Mountain Productions has been called on to provide staging equipment for the national event, with each year’s production adapting and evolving.

The National Christmas Tree is placed on a built decking platform to the stage right of the performance stage. Mountain Productions’ truss tower stage and roof grid are built on the decking, supporting the elaborate scenic each year for the lighting ceremony and musical performances. Out in the audience, Mountain’s scaffold video support structures stand tall for attendees farther back in the crowd, and a large press platform is built for media coverage.
