There are few clients bigger than the NFL, and Mountain Productions built one of its largest, most formidable structures in the company’s history for the 2016 NFL Draft. The NFL Draft is one of the biggest events in sports of the year, watched by nearly 50 million viewers. For the 2016 Selection Square venue, Mountain Productions’ engineering team created a massive structure using two of our Mountain Truss Systems back to back. What resulted was an enormous temporary building that was a staggering 123’ deep and 120’ wide with two 40’ wings. A 105’ deep by 210’ wide deck area extended out of the downstage edge. The entire structure was clad in custom made weather protection vinyl panels and branded printed softgoods, carefully sized and fixed to the structure.
Along with the main stage, Mountain Productions built a three-tower 143’ long cable bridge, two car platforms, and the 160’ wide video support scaffold wall for the “40 Yard Dash” interactive fan area. The entire project called for an unprecedented amount of equipment and logistics, and the finished project staged an immersive, and gigantic production that only the NFL could pull off.
